Zona Balnear da Foz da Ribeira
The bathing area at the mouth of Guilherme Stream, is located nearby Vila de Nordeste.
The pool is served by natural ocean water and is usually under surveillance in the summer. This area has a car park, sanitary facilities and changing rooms.
You get a beautiful view over the coast and the Arnel Lighthouse from the tip of the old pier.

Lombo Gordo Beach
In Nordeste you will find one of the most beautiful and secluded beaches of this island: Lombo Gordo beach, nearby Pedreira. The inconsistency of the sandy area and the steep access to the site mean that this place is less visited.
If you want to go to this beach, ask in advance at the Tourist Office about the existence of sand.
You can go there by car, leaving it at the parking place. The beach has toilets and a support staff on site, although it doesn't have surveillance.

Foz da Ribeira das Coelhas
At the mouth of the Coelhas Stream, a small sandy area is sometimes formed, which is very popular in Salga. We must warn the visitors that this bathing area is not under surveillance.

Moinho das Relvas
Sometimes, depending on the tides, in the coastal area near the mouth of the Cachaço Stream, a small sandy area is formed. It is very popular in Achadinha and is also known as the «Moinho das Relvas bathing area».
This beach has no surveillance.
Caminho do Calhau, Achadinha
Lenho Achada / Achadinha
This is another beach area to much appreciated by the residents of Achada and Achadinha for a refreshing contact with the sea.
